A Complete Drag...

We took some family pictures Saturday. We were bored and it was too cold to go outside and get some sun. This cold is really putting a cramp in our outdoors activity. ... .... Bwhahaha! Ok, sorry, I can't lie in my blog! We are indoors people. Videogame/book/laptop-aholics. But suddenly having the OPTION of going outside and playing in the parking lot ripped away gave me cabin-fever. Le sigh.

So, this is what happened on that fateful Saturday.

Prepare yourself.

Terrified yet???

If Blake were really a girl would I be a lesbo?

...

*Cricket*

...

Nope.

That night we went straight to bed. Blake didn't even ask to cuddle. There was silence in our bedroom. Blake was sad none of my shoes fit him for the shoot and I was praying that Blake never went to jail. He would most definitely become someone's wife.

Remember, remember the 23rd of November...

So two years and some change ago, the gorgeous man that I am married to proposed. It was a very happy day, if not entirely unexpected. I realized I haven't written about it and so I am going to so as not to lose the memory.
I was recovering from the swine flue phenomenon. I was on the tail end of things, enough that Blake was not obligated to come to ME to visit. So he convinced me to hang out at his house that evening. I bundled up in my ugly coat, with toilet paper and cough drops crammed in my pockets. I took a cold pill and sniffled any liquid I could out of my head--I didn't want my boyfriend to catch me with frozen snot under my nose. I went over to his house and he practically begged me to go on a walk. (A fact about mine and the Blake's relationship: I have to beg HIM to walk with me.) Hmmmm.... I consented and we went wandering into the freezing evening air. I babbled on about how I had gone to the store and seen an old friend working there, and as I was checking out, I asked for some Malboro Lights to freak her out. This did not elicit the response I would have liked from the Blake. He was pretty much silent the entire walk. Awkward! We got to his porch and I made a beeline for the heated indoors, but Blake got to me first. He put his arms around me and put his forehead against mine. His first words were, "You know I love you right?" I was quite frozen at that moment. He then gave me a very sweet speech about how he loved being with me and wanted to share more firsts with me and talked about the good times we've had together. Then, to add the Blake flare to things, he said, "And that begs the question" here he popped onto one knee and fabulously opened the ring box, "Will you marry me?" I was dazzled by Blake's flare, and the shiny thing blinding my eyes. Oh, I still managed to squeal an hop a little to add some Jocelyn flare to the situation of course. Apparently I said yes, because I'm supposedly married right now or something. :)
I went home and showed off my new bling to my fantastic familia... and it seems that all my siblings materialized for the reveal of my engagement ring. Things are a bit fuzzy because of the newly-engaged haze I was walking in.

The next day was my baby bro's birthday. To celebrate we went to Golden Corral. Braydon also invited his future brother-in-law to his celebratory dinn-dinn. It used to be that Golden Corral would give you a basket of rolls for your table, but they had recently changed this so you could get as many as you wanted at the bar. We all went and filled up our plates with delicious food and sat back at the table. Dad has a roll-tooth next to his sweet-tooth and had gotten a plate full of just rolls. Blake, apparently also still in the newly-engaged haze, took a couple rolls off my dad's second plate. The other three of us kind of went quiet when we saw this, but my family, being kind, decided to ignore Blake's thievery. I am not so kind. I leaned over and hissed at Blake, "You stole rolls from my dad's plate!" I could practically feel the discomfort and shock radiating from Blake's skin. Bwahahaha!!! I don't remember if Blake even said anything about it, but when he went to get seconds, he came back with a fresh plate full of rolls. While he was gone, I remember catching my mom's eye and we both knew this would be something that would require a lot of laughter when we were not in public. Way to initiate yourself into the Gubler family, Blake. My dad, being a man of greatness and taking-the-high-road-ness, forgave him.

It's been a couple days...

...since I posted. Well there was a fiasco with my dearly beloved laptop, Lovemachine. She's dead. A glass of water was spilled near her and a couple drops managed to find their way into the right vents and fried the hard drive. Boohoo. :( So a couple days of us sharing the desktop computer convinced Blake that I needed a new laptop. So we went to Bestbuy and found a cute little MacBook Pro waiting to be adopted. He is dubbed Lovemachine 2.0. Anyways, the gist of this story is ALL of my pertinent account information was wiped away with those drops of water and I've been slowly trying to figure out all of my user names and passwords. The only pictures I lost were the ones we took in Dallas a few months ago and I look like a greaseball in those so I'm not too bummed.
We have switched back to a day schedule! Whore-ay! =D I pray that Blake will never again have the night shift. He's happy because I can't take any more of these good photos while he's sleeping. Note that he's hugging the side of the bed when it's just him alone. When I'm in there with him he manages to find me and smother me in his sleep.

Blake got lonely sleeping during the day by himself so he had company. Ask me if I put Rufus in bed with us. *Hint, the answer is no!*
We headed down to Utah, which we have dubbed The Mecca of All Things Good, for my reunion and Blake's general well-being. It was amaze-balls! I had tonsa fun, and so did the Blake! All of my married silbings are currently gestating or have a new baby so faces like this...
And this...
were constantly being thrown at us. You know who you are!
I won't bore with details of things most of you already know. Not that the reunion was boring! I could do it again tomorrow! Except the driving from here to there. The day we left for Utah I woke up at 2:30am (no alarm, just my hyperness) and was ready to go. Blake was hanging around work later than usual making sure his leave was approved and I was so wound up I ended up yelling at my text messages for him to get his skinny butt home so we could leave. And things. I drove most of the way to Utah, staying in the left lane pretty much the entire time because I was making awesome time. I had lead-foot-Grandma-Gubler-Syndrome. My mother is still astounded how I managed to get us to The Mecca so fast. But on the way back to OK, Blake drove granny-ish-ly, and I didn't want to drive and so we ended up stopping for dinner at the greasiest Dennys ever in New Mexico and I begged Blake to let us stop at a hotel. It wasn't until we got near Armarillo that Blake agreed and we stopped at the Hilton Garden Inn. The shower was almost as big as our kitchen! The bed was adjustable firmness! The comforter had a washable duvet!!! We about died when we saw our room and slept til noon the next day we were so full of bliss. But then we drove forever more until we saw the tops of our apartments peeking at us through the thick trees that The Mecca does not have. Joy!
We unloaded our car, which was jam-packed with luggage and approx. 30 jars of delicious spaghetti sauce (parental's christmas gift to us, we couldn't be happier)-the Western Family kind that isn't here in OK. One jar of precious sauce broke in the car (a victim of trunk-slamming) but thankfully the sauce stayed mostly in the bag and on one moving box. Blake licked his fingers of the sauce that got on them from the disaster. Yes, it's that good that he'll lick off trunk-sauce. It has been good to be home though. Blake got the worst fever blisters from the humidity change whilst in The Mecca
and I managed to stain myself purple taking some crazy medicine. It went mostly away after a few days. My bro didn't want to mention it when he first saw me because he was unsure if I had tooth-rot or something. Tender. All that's left is a purple stain on one of my built-upons that just won't go away! Blast! Maybe it'll turn into a fabulous new trend-dyed teeth!

Our Amazing Weekend (and celeb sightings!)

McBlakerson and I headed to Dallas and Arlington last weekend to celebrate our last few days as daywalkers. Our first (and most important) stop was to Dallas' new In n Out Burger. We had to drive perhaps an hour out of our way and then waited in the drive through line for perhaps half an hour but it was all worth it when I sunk my teeth into my grilled cheeses and fries. Yummy! Blake kept praying for red lights (as he insisted on continuing our journey as we ate) so he could take bites of his double-double animal style. I fed him fries the whole way to the hotel. Oh how we had missed that delightful burger joint!! We moaned and groaned the entire time we were eating and quiet tears fell down Blake's cheeks as he chewed.

After we stopped at our hotel and dropped off our shiznit we headed out and bumped into my girl Sarah Jessica Parker!! She was chillin' with Julia Roberts so that was pretty cool too!

And the three stooges let us take pictures in front of us. Right afterwards one of them clunked Blake on his head and we went on. :)

Ahhh, and then Johhhhhny! Notice Blake's puss? Well it was because Johnny got a little fresh with me and...

He asked for my hand. He's just such an old-fashioned kinda guy. Apart from the fact that he was kinda being a homewrecker with Blake standing right there and all. I was planning my celeb wedding when, as with the stooges, Blake dragged me away.

And we of course ran into Opera. She's just got her fingers in every kind of venture nowadays. I was pleased she could give me a little advice. She told me to forget Johnny because Blake seemed like the type of guy I could be happy with forever. I think she just wanted a piece of Depp because I spotted them giving each other googley eyes a few minutes later. Poor Gayle.

Blake's teen idol was there too. Dr. Phil. He doesn't actually speak English. It's some kind of gibberish in real life. Thank goodness for good 'ol TV editing!

Things got a little hairy when we ran into Toto's friend. I can't remember his name. Neither does Blake. I guess his kisses just blew us away. We took turns because if we would have kissed him at the same time that would have been a little obscene! ...and kinky...

Ran into the other Johnny. Cash, that is. We didn't stay long with him because we were irritated we couldn't wash our hands because he had torn the sinks out of the wall. But I stopped for a picture so my Padre could be jealous. =D

We saw Ghandi there. He was holding his stick, looking just as skinny as it. Somehow Blake beat him in waist size though!

Then I ran into Hannibal. What a genuine guy! "Hello Jocelyn" was all he said, but that's all he needed to.

Since we were in Texas we stopped at the Texas Massacre's guy's house for dinner. He only fed us a salad and some expertly chopped veggies.

We went to the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum and saw some pretty cool stuff. Like this Abraham Lincoln log house made entirely of pennies and this genuine vampire-killing kit. I was too entranced with everything else to remember pictures.

We left the museum and gps'ed a mall. The freeways were COMPLETELY congested so Blake decided he knew the way better than Moses, our GPS. *Sigh* He ended up taking us to the slums of the USA. I had to keep checking that the car door was locked and praying we wouldn't get a flat tire. After passing our second topless joint I gave him the Gubler Glare and he listened to Moses and got us to an outdoor mall. We wandered around and didn't. buy. anything!! It was nuts! We did go to PF Changs because Blake was giving me the googly-eyes and flashing his dimples. Darn those dimples. I have been a vegetarian for some years now and it was the first time I had tofu. Not impressed. Like tough chicken. I ended up eating most of Blake's fried rice. Blake was happy though so it was a good night.

We went back to our hotel for the night. It was the worst night spent in a hotel for either of us. And that includes me sleeping by myself when I went to see Blake's graduation from basic (I spent those nights jumpy and nervous that someone would peek in my window). We were stuffed in a queen bed that might as well have been a twin with the heat that constantly radiates from Blake's body. We spent the night listening to one of our neighbors slamming their door (which sounded like someone banging on our door) shut every few minutes. Even half-asleep I couldn't help but think of Vacancy and the couple being terrorized before they were murdered. Eeug! Finally, before we had figured out it was doors slamming, I was woken up again by the slamming noise and I flew out of bed and ran out in the hall with my crazy-eyes and pjs. I don't know what I would have done if I had found the door-slammer, but I was ready to konk some heads and poke some eyeballs.

We got up the next morning bright and early because Blake had turned off his internal heater and we woke up freezing and shivering. We ate leftover PF Chang's and checked out of the hotel, glaring at every guest we saw in case they were the door slammers. I'm sure wherever they were they felt the shame I willed upon them.

When we got to Six Flags the next day we were immediately sweltering in the heat. Holy. Moly. Probably not the best idea to go to Six Flags in Texas during the hottest month of the year. I gulped down water until my belly was swollen and I would stand under the outdoor showers longer than the children even. I would step out of them completely drenched and would be dry a few minutes later. Blake looked embarassed every time I stepped into those showers but I didn't care. Even though it washed away all my makeup and made me look like a loon I was happy!

Blake had to get his token crazy-horse picture on the merry-go-round. He was very pleased with himself afterwards. I think those are his favorite pictures ever.

And then we hopped onto the tower that overlooks all of Six Flags. It was my scariest ride. I can be hurled back and forth on a 400 foot tall coaster but slowly going up an elevator with glass walls caused me to almost pee myself. I just cuddled up to Blake and buried my head in his neck. I'm a child what can I say. We got up and took a few pics but I made us go back down because I know that tower was gonna be blown over by the wind at any minute. So, Blake, I saved your life. Remember that.

Blake won me a puppy when we got onto the ground again. I am pleased as punch. His name is Rufus and he makes our family complete! We took him on our final roller coaster and Blake sat on his head. Poor Rufus! Their relationship is currently a little strained right now because of it. Plus Blake is like the old cat when a couple brings home a new baby. He lashes out at Rufus because of all the attention I give him. Poor little Roofie!! I hope I don't have to start putting Blake on the patio when Rufus is out.

Here's Rufus. Blake made the mistake of giving him table scraps. Oy vey.

That was our weekend! We came home and slept forever. That was amazing! That Sunday night Blake went to work at 11pm. A week later and I can barely last til 6:30am and then I fall asleep anywhere. This has caused poor Blake to be locked out of the house because I sleep through my phone. Don't worry though- the longest he's been stuck outside is ten minutes and about fifty phonecalls. ;)

What's Up Doc?

So things have been pretty quiet for me and the Blake. It seems my family is doing all the wild and crazy stuff- babies, reunions, bra-shopping, etc. Jealousness! ;D
I have been working out about every other day and am very happy with the results so far. I'm doing the 30 Day Shred workout by Jillian Michaels. She is an odd duck but her workouts are AMAZING! If Blake is home when I want to workout I lock him in our bedroom and make him wear headphones while I grunt and groan through my workouts. We went to the store the other day and McBlakerson wanted a big package of those Little Debbie cupcakes. Oy, delicious! So I told him he could get them as long as he hid them from me. So when we got home I stood outside while he hid them. He told me that if he found any missing I would have to run three laps around the apartment complex per cupcake. Our relationship is weird.
We saw Harry Potter the other day. Both of us were completely entranced! I must say it was definitely one of the best movies they've done! Although #5 with Umbridge having Filch as her lackey cracks me up every time!
Blake is changing his work schedule coming up next week. He's going to be on the night shift 12-8am. It'll be interesting for us to transition. I'll be so glad when his training is done with and he can settle down and not have these crazy schedules. He is pretty dang amazing though. He does all this stressful stuff but never shows just how difficult it must be-he just keeps being his sweet self. I admit I'm a little Blakie-whipped haha.
So I've been getting my hair bleached. I think I blew Braydon's mind when I sent him a picture of my latest hair color. Perhaps he feels threatened not being the only blonde sibling anymore... Anyways, I've still got a bit more to go but this is where I am. Excuse the weird facial expression.
Blake has been so sweet to come with me to my hair appointments. We were there last time and I was sent to the back to sit under a dryer. I texted Blake to come back and keep me company. Waited. No Blake. I finally asked why he wasn't with me and he said he was scared to walk through all the salon people to try and find me. Haha, what a cutie. He got over his fear though when I mentioned perhaps we should get a pizza after my hair appointment.
So that's pretty much it. Hopefully after this weekend there will be some interesting stuff to share. I'm just hoping that since I posted a blog I might get some babie pictures in my email shortly... *hint hint* =D

Our 4th of July Weekend!

Blake had a four day weekend for the 4th this month. Score! =D
We went to Frontier City (Oklahoma's Lagoon) on Friday morning. It was amazingly empty that day. The longest we had to wait for a ride was the ride going around twice.

Excuse the crazy hair- we went on a wet ride first to keep us cool in the humid hotness.

We took lotsa pics on the roller coasters and on the merry-go-round. They make me laugh every time I look at Blake's faces. =D

And finally we went and got our caricatures drawn. Don't we look beautiful? I think the guy totally nailed Blake. I hope he was a little off with mine! =D

Also this weekend we went shopping. Crazy, huh? As I was getting my hair done, Blake went to Best Buy and looked for birthday present ideas. He gave me some lame ideas that he had for himself so I mentioned that I was surprised he hadn't asked for a TV. Immediately he went crazy picking out his perfect telemundo. He spent that entire evening researching and comparing TVs. I asked him if he would give up pop for a TV and he wholeheartedly agreed. So that night he dreamed about giving up pop for his perfect TV! What a crazy Blake! When we were searching for a couch we saw the model of the TV he had picked out for several hundred dollars cheaper than he had found online. So we went home with a 46 inch LED. Blake couldn't be happier.

Our couch got here today. It's lovingly called "Our ugly, cute couch" because... well, it's ugly as sin but so fabulously comfortable! The poor delivery men were drenched in sweat when the finally got the couch up the stairs. I literally kept stepping in pools of wet carpet from the guy's sweat. Gross!

And the middle section flips open to reveal cupholders, two reading lights, and switches to turn on a massage feature. And the bottom part of the middle section pulls out into a drawer.

Then yesterday we relaxed and watched Justified on Blake's new TV. Then we went out to grocery shop around 11 and ended up parking and watching fireworks on the trunk of our car. It was a great weekend. I loved spending four nonstop days with Blake and eating lots of junk food, Jersey Mikes, and Papa Johns.

A Very Moving Experience

Lately we have been thinking what we're going to do when our lease expires here at Legacy Corner. We love the apartment, but wish it had a kitchen bigger than our closet and perhaps a yard. Move to another complex? Stay here? Buy a house? Rent a house? Live on base? But then I realized I have never written about our move out here. This move was a big thing for both me and the Blake as we are both homebodies who like to be close to our mommies. And even though Blake had been away from home for about nine months before our move it was still hard on him too.
When Blake got his orders saying we were going to be moving to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City we were both a little stunned. It seemed like such a random place and we knew nothing about it. After Googling the heck out of it, we decided it wasn't the worst thing in the world-one of Blake's tech school friend's had be ordered to Nebraska so I guess we had to count our blessings!
We found an apartment over the internet that seemed great and were approved over the phone and through faxing. We also used our credit card points and bought ourselves a good GPS (if we hadn't got that tiny magic machine we would probably still be somewhere in New Mexico!). Next came the rental truck. We decided to move ourselves so we could have control over our possessions and pocket a little cash. I remember going to the gas station in St. George to pick up the truck and seeing the huge moving truck with the trailer attatched to the back of it. It was like a semi truck! Blake had to get it weighed so I watched as he inched the truck and trailer out of the parking lot and took off down the boulevard. Poor guy. He got it home safely and we went to take off the trailer and couldn't! Blake had had to remove the trailer to weigh the truck and had reattatched it wrong! It was amazing the thing hadn't come loose as he was hurdling down the freeway! After about an hour or two Blake and my amazing dad got the trailer detatched and we were able to back the truck into the driveway and start loading all off our stuff.

It was a great time to be a female! I sat inside and sealed and packed boxes while the guys (Blake, Dad, Braydon, and Mike) loaded and wrapped furniture and boxes into the truck. I must admit I did love pointing and instructing as the guys followed my commands! =D
After everything except what we would need to live with was packed in the truck, we enjoyed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with our families. On the 26th we said goodbye to our families (boohoo) and set off.

We drove (and when I say "We" I mean Blake did the actual driving, while I supervised with my eyeballs) all the way to Albuquerque, NM in the first day. We had no hotel reservations as we weren't sure how fast we'd be traveling (the sign in the truck said we shouldn't exceed 55mph... oops, hehe). Our phones were amazingly helpful and we were able to book our hotel on the fly-The Hyatt Regency. When we got there it was about 8:00pm and we saw several clusters of police cars busting people. That makes ya feel safe. We got to the hotel and saw it was valet parking only!! Our moving truck would not fit! So we drove down the street about half a mile and parked in a Babtist church parking lot. I was soo nervous leaving all of our possessions in the middle of a city filled with homeless people and druggies. Needless to say I did not sleep that night, but Blake snored like an elk in heat next to me. Lucky stinker. At 5:30am I got up and hustled Blake out of bed after I had gotten ready for the day. We ate breakfast (if you can call a pastry and hot chocolate each for 11$ a breakfast, Oy! Starbucks...) and we went to our truck. It was safe! And for some reason, on a Monday morning at about 6am, the parking lot was full of crazy Bapbtist's going to church! Anyways...
We continued down the road and were surprised by a buck trying to jump in front of the truck! It scared us both a lot! Especially since we hadn't insured the 40,000$ truck! Thankfully the beast decided it didn't want to die that day and we were able to avoid it.
We arrived in OKC around 5pm that day. We got to our apartment complex and tried to find a parking spot. I hopped out of the truck to talk to the apartment managers and came outside to find one crazy, nutty Blake had driven the truck AND trailer into the tiny parking lot! He was completely stuck! I won't discuss how we reacted to the situation, but it wasn't pretty. Eventually, with some help, and new neighbors driving past and oogling our predicament, we were able to get the truck and trailer out of the parking lot. Phew!
By the time we got our apartment and had parked it was probably about 8 or 9pm. We were tired but decided to spend our first night in our new apartment rather than go to a hotel. That required us to unload the truck as much as possible so we could get our mattress out. That was our goal- to get to the mattress. That required moving a lot of heavy boxes up to the third floor. By the time we got to the mattress my muscles were pretty much shot.
When we finally got enough room to slide our mattress out I was so relieved and tired. We got two ropes a couple yards long and wrapped them under the matress and held on to the ends. That dang matress was HEAVY! King-size, memory foam, and gel are not a good combination for moving something that awkward up two flights of steps. We could barely get it across the parking lot. Blake would lift and push the matress forward while I would just try to lift the thing and let him propel it forward. My muscles were screaming. And the steps. Oy, the steps! Words cannot describe how difficult it was. Perhaps the most difficult physical task I have ever had to do. At one point I got my legs tangled between the matress and the cement stairs and came down hard on my knee. Did not help the situation. But with Blake pushing the matress forward and me lifting it up, somehow we were able to get the matress inside and let it fall to the floor. We both laid on the matress sweating and exhausted, so happy we were done! With no shower curtain we crouch-showered underneath the bathtub tap (praying the previous tennants had cleaned it well before they left) and went to bed, completely exhausted.
The next day was spent getting the rest of the truck unloaded until there was only a few really heavy pieces of furniture left. We couldn't find anyone to help us. We tried the local ward, but they couldn't find anyone. All of Blake's friends from work weren't scheduled to arrive until the next week. And we didn't know anyone at the apartment complex. The truck was due back the next morning. We figured we'd pay for the extra day and that would be it. Blake left for work early the next morning to check in and I recieved a phone call from the rental agency asking when we'd be bringing in the truck. I told him we'd like it one more day, please. Apparently this wasn't possible because the next movers needed it. I was all alone with Blake at work and had to turn the truck in in just a few hours. I called Blake frantically and his sargeant let him come home. We tried moving the furniture, but there was no way. I was ready to let the next movers have our new 2,000$ furniture. But then we remembered a guy about our age who had seen us struggling with the futon the night before and had offered to help. He HAD told us his apartment number and said to come over if we needed anything... So I knocked on his door and gave him a sheepish, desperate smile and asked for help. Thank goodness he and Blake were both military strong and got our furniture up the steps. I couldn't watch this part because I was sure one of them was gonna slip and be crushed by the vanity. But they made it!!! =D That night I made red velvet cupcakes and we brought them to our WONDERFUL, AMAZING neighbor. I don't know what we would have done if he hadn't chosen that exact time to take his dog out to tinkle and offered to help us.
Blake had the next couple weeks off so we unpacked together. It was so nice to spend that time with my hubby after not seeing him for more than a weekend here and there in nine months. We have also decided that the next time we can use the military moving service we are going to take it!

Waitin' for the Blake...

I just love how nicely fixed up this cute house was! At least on the outside. On the inside it was pretty awful: rotted floors, horrible, crazy purple paint, and lots of rubble. The house was teensy and made my little apartment feel like I could do gymnastics across every room. But it was still pretty cool to look at.
